PLOT
The film takes place in two different times: the present and 11 years earlier. The two plotlines are told in parallel through flashbacks.

Eleven years ago, computer developer Alan Russell moves into a new house with his wife Marie, 10-year-old son Tim, and 13-year-old daughter Kaylie. Alan purchases an antique mirror to decorate his office. The mirror induces hallucinations in both adults; Marie is haunted by visions of her own body putrefying and decaying while she is still alive, while Alan is seduced by a ghostly woman named Marisol, who has mirrors in place of eyes.

Over time, the parents become detached and psychotic, with Alan isolating himself in his office and Marie becoming withdrawn and paranoid; during the same period, all of the plants in the house die and the family dog disappears after being locked in the office with the mirror. After Kaylie witnesses Alan interacting with Marisol and tells her mother, Marie becomes feral and, after a period of starving herself, attempts to murder the children. Alan overpowers her and chains her to their bedroom wall.

Alan remains isolated in his office for an indeterminate period of time; when the family runs out of food, the children attempt to seek help from their neighbors, who disbelieve their stories. Attempting to contact doctors or the authorities, Kaylie discovers that all of her phone calls are answered by the same man, who admonishes her to speak with her father.

One night, Alan unchains Marie, and both parents attack the children. Marie briefly comes to her senses, only to be shot dead by Alan. Alan corners the children in his office, but also experiences a moment of lucidity, during which he forces Tim to shoot him to death. The police arrive and take Tim into custody; before the siblings are separated, they promise to reunite as adults and destroy the mirror.

Eleven years later, Tim is discharged from a psychiatric hospital, having come to believe that there were no supernatural events involved in his parents' deaths. Kaylie, meanwhile, has spent most of her young adulthood researching the history of the mirror, obsessively documenting the lives and deaths of everyone who's ever owned it. Using her position as an employee of an auction house, Kaylie obtains access to the mirror and has it transported to the family home, where she places it in a room filled with surveillance cameras in an attempt to document its powers; using a "kill switch"—an anchor weighted to the ceiling and set to a timer—Kaylie intends to end the night with the mirror being destroyed, whether or not she herself survives.

Tim joins Kaylie at the house and attempts to convince his sister that she's rationalized their parents' deaths as being caused by an external force, in order to avoid facing the truth. The siblings argue for the duration of the evening until they find that cameras in the room have inexplicably moved in their absence; reviewing the video, they realize that the mirror induced them to rearrange the contents of the room without their knowledge. Tim accepts that the mirror has some diabolical power and attempts to escape the house with Kaylie, only for the pair to be repeatedly drawn back by the mirror's influence. Trying to call the police for help, they are only able to reach the same voice who spoke to them on the phone as children. Kaylie kills her fiance as she sees a ghostly figure having mirrors for eyes in place of him. The pair begin to hallucinate and experience visions of everyone killed by the mirror, who appear as ghostly figures with mirrors in place of their eyes.

As Kaylie is drawn to the mirror by an image of her mother beckoning to her, Tim experiences a hallucination of being trapped alone in the room with the mirror. He activates the kill switch, causing the anchor to descend and fatally impale Kaylie.

The police arrive and arrest a hysterical Tim, who insists that "the mirror did it." Tim is taken away in the back of a squad car as the ghosts of his parents and sister watch him from the house

RECEPTION
Critical
Critical reception for Oculus has been positive and the film holds a rating of 70% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 96 reviews with the consensus stating: "With an emphasis on dread over gore and an ending that leaves the door wide open for sequels, Oculus could be just the first spine-tingling chapter in a new franchise for discerning horror fans". Shock Till You Drop gave Oculus a positive review, stating that it was "smart and scary stuff". Film School Rejects gave a mixed review and stated that it was "well-acted, looks quite good, and manages some moments of entertainment, but as the minutes tick by it grows weaker and weaker until its final cheat designed to allow for a shocker ending."
Box office
Along with generally positive critical reception, Oculus has also done well financially. Released in the United States on April 11, 2014, Oculus grossed $4,940,000 on its opening day, nearly equaling its production budget of $5 million. As of May 18, 2014, the film has taken in an estimated $27,564,472 at the North American box office and another $3,300,000 internationally for a worldwide total of $30,864,472.

Hello! I believe you have known my name already haha, but I will tell you again my name :D. HELLO! My name is Nadia Gitta Paramita . Now I’m in XI IPA 1 In 3th Senior High School. I want to tell you about my adventure again when I was on holiday for a new year 2014 J (yaay!!). On this time my sister had entered UGM and of course she lived in Yogja now, she lived at the UGM dorms this year. Me and my family want to visit her cause we miss he so much. Me and my family come to Yogyakarta. Well last year I have to stay and sleep on my car, but this year we are gouing to sleep and stay at hotel near my sister dorm. How refreshing it was in here, this year I came 3 days before a new year, so there weren’t have a death traffic like the past last year. I came in Yogyakarta now with my family (of course) but this is special cause my grandmother came too. Last year I came here to go to the Borobudur temple. But now we came here to visit Prambanan temple and also came to visit my beautiful sister. But this time my sister wont come join us to go to the Prambanan temple cause her schedule. She is so busy, and always busy, how can she bring the bones of human, real bones not the replica one in her dorm for her study. Well she get that bones from his university, from library just for studying that bones. Her dorm smels like formalin cause of that bones and her lab coat. Okay back to the topic. After going to see Prambanan temple and get inside the temple, we decide to see the fireworks at night cause that night. The fireworks are so beautiful. I never see the beautiful fireworks like that, so happy to se the fireworks. At the new year night are so many fireworks. We all gathered at the square to see how beautiful it’s. Yeah, that night almost completely perfect. But, my sister are not coming to, joining with us. Well she have a new friends and her friends want she joining them, well she’s still a new girl (first year) on UGM so she needs to adaptation with her friends J. I know that feels cause I have a lot of friends to in 3 senior high school. Hanging around with friends are so fun. Choices

Jerry was always in a good mood and always had something positive to say. When someone would ask him how was he doing, he would reply

“if there any better, I would be twins”.

 He was natural motivator.

Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I ask him.

“I don’t get it! You can’t be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?”

Jerry replied “each morning I wake up and say to my self, ‘Jerry you have two choices today. You can be in a bad mood or to be In the good mood?’ I choose to be in the good mood. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life.”

“Yeah right, it’s not that easy.” I protested

“Yes, it is” Jerry said “life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. It’s your choice how you live life”.

After several years later. I heard that Jerry was on surgery and weeks of intensive care.

He says “As I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices; I could choose to live or I could choose to die. I choose to life”

“Weren’t you scared? Did you lose consciousness?” I asked.

“What did you do?” I asked.

“Well, there was a big, burly nurse shouting question at me” He said.

“She asked if I was allergic to anything ‘Yes’ I replied. The doctors and nurses stop working as they waited for me reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, ‘Bullets!’ over their laughter, I told them ‘ I am choosing to live, Operate on me if I am alive, not dead.”

Jerry was lived, thanks to the skill of his doctor, but also because of his amazing atitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choices to live fully. Atitude, after all, is everything.

My name is Nadia Gitta Paramita. I am from XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 3 Bandung. My age are 16^th years old. My hobby are swimming and running. I’m here for the election of student council president.

As the school motto “knowledge is power character is more” my Vision are to bring that motto come true. Beside make that motto come true, I will make this school more fun with no living our knowledge. My missions are to supporting my vision before. Extracurricular helping us to be a good person who have a good character than before. I’ll make the program to support my mission. Tornado Wind Speed

In 1971, Dr. Fujita developed a way of measuring the winds of a tornado. He reasoned that there was a link between wind speed and  the damage caused by a tornado. There are 6 categories of tornados (F0 – F5)

F0 Category

•         (Weak)  winds (40-72) mph , little damage

•         Damage: tree branches snapped, chimneys toppled, signs torn down

F3 Category

•         (Strong) winds: (158-206) mph, severe damage

•         Damage: most trees uprooted, trains overturned, roofs torn off, walls demolished

F5 Category

•         (Violent) winds: (261- 319) mph, incredible damage; rare

Damage: bark peeled off trees, houses lifted off foundations, vehicles travel greater than 100 m through the air

Tornado Forecasting

Meteorologists who predict tornado development analyze the current atmospheric conditions such as: air temp., barometric pressure, the locations of fronts, wind velocities, convection, etc. Probably the most useful tool a meteorologist can use to identify tornados is radar, specifically Doppler radar (WSR-88D)

The Life cycle of a Tornado

•         The “Life Cycle” of a tornado consists of four distinct stages.

•         These stages were first determined during the Union City, OK  tornado of 1973

•         Most tornadic events are difficult to classify and may not exhibit stages that are obvious to the observer

•         Sometimes events become unclear: one tornado weakens another appears, or single event?

Tornados do not “skip” – gaps in damage path may indicate a temporary weakening in intensity

How tornadoes form?

Most tornadoes form from thunderstorms. You need warm, moist air from the Gulf Of Mexico and cool, dry air from Canada. When these two air masses meet, they create instability in the atmosphere. A change in wind direction and an increase in wind speed with increasing height creates an invisible, horizontal spinning effect in the lower atmosphere. Rising air within the updraft tilts the rotating air from horizontal to vertical. An area of rotation, 2-6 miles wide, now extends through much of the storm. Most strong and violent tornadoes form within this area of strong rotation.

What are some other factors for tornadoes to form?
Several conditions are required for the development of tornadoes and the thunderstorm clouds with which most tornadoes are associated. Abundant low level moisture is necessary to contribute to the development of a thunderstorm, and a "trigger" (perhaps a cold front or other low level zone of converging winds) is needed to lift the moist air aloft. Once the air begins to rise and becomes saturated, it will continue rising to great heights  to produce a thunderstorm cloud, if the atmosphere is unstable. An unstable atmosphere is one where the temperature decreases rapidly with height. Atmospheric instability can also occur when dry air overlays moist air near the earth's surface. Finally, tornadoes usually form in areas where winds at all levels of the atmosphere are not only strong, but also turn with height in a clockwise or veering direction. 

What do tornadoes look like?
Tornadoes can appear as a traditional funnel shape, or in a slender rope-like form. Some have a churning, smoky look to them, and other contain "multiple vortices", which are small, individual tornadoes rotating around a common center. Even others may be nearly invisible, with only swirling dust or deribs at ground levels as the only indication of the tornado's presence.
